SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Submissions for the Conference
Abstracts should be submitted electronically using the form shown and will be evaluated by the Organizer Committee of 11th SEASC and 13th ISC 2011. The abstracts and full papers shall be in Microsoft Word format. At the end of the abstract, name, address, phone, fax number and email should be included. The principal author can name other persons as co-authors of the paper. One person may be author or co-author of two different papers, whether as principal author or as secondary author. The principal author is the one who will attend the conference in person to present the work; although naturally the co-authors are also invited to attend the conference too. The receipt of the abstract will be acknowledged electronically. Dateline for submitting the abstract is 15 March 2011. For other important deadlines see Important Dates 2011.

Calendar and Program
The most important dates for the work to be submitted and presented in the conference are as follows:

  • First Call for Abstracts: 15 August 2010
  • Second Call for Abstracts: 15 October 2010
  • Deadline for receiving abstracts (in all categories): 15 March 2011
  • Notification of acceptance of the abstracts: 16 April 2011
  • Deadline for early bird registration: 31 March 2011
  • Deadline for receiving full papers: 20 May 2011
  • Deadline for author-speakers and participants to pay their registration fees: 1 June 2011

Only papers that have been accepted by the Organizing Committee will be published in the congress proceedings (on CD) when the corresponding registration for attending conference has been paid by the 1 April 2011. Each speaker is allowed to present his/her paper, orally, for 15 minutes scheduled within one of the technical sessions during the conference, aided by a slide show on screen. Each technical session will last for 90 minutes, with 15 minutes for each of the 5 presentations. In the last 15 minutes of each session, the 5 authors will be given the opportunity to answer questions from the attendees.

SUBMISSIONS FORMATS

Papers (Refereed and No Refereed)

Page layout: Standard A4 format (21 x 29.7 cm) with 4 cm top and bottom margins and 3 cm side margins, or 81 x 2 x 11 inch paper with 81 x 2 margins and 11 x 4 inch side margins.

Title: Centre the title in bold capital letters as the first item (14pt), followed by vertical space and then the name(s) of the author(s) (12pt).

Affiliation: Type the affiliation postal address (typed as it should appear on mailing envelope) immediately below each author’s name, along with e-mail address (12pt).

Abstract: After two line spaces, the body of the abstract should be type with single spacing and no indentation for paragraphs, in a text between 500 and 1000 words that includes, in this order: (1) Abstract Heading Bold (2) Introduction (3) Objectives (4) Methodology (5) Results and (6) Conclusions. This format is applicable both when submitting the abstract to Organizing Committee for the first time (before November 1st, 2011) and when it appear at the start of the full paper. Paper text: All text is to be in times New Roman characters, size 12 point. Total number of pages for the whole paper must be between 5 (minimum) and 10 (maximum). After two line spaces, the body of the paper should be typed with single spacing and no indentation of paragraphs. The text is to be left and right justified. The paper must include an introduction, body of paper, conclusion and references. All heading must be bold. A single line space should appear between paragraphs.

 

Figures: All figures are to be labelled sequentially. Figure are to be placed in centre of the page, at the top or bottom, whichever is closest to the text it refers to (try and keep the figure near the text and on the same page). Leave a one line space and then add the figure title. Figure titles are to be placed at the bottom of the figure, centered and labelled. After the figure title, leave a one line space before continuing with the text for the next paragraph.

 

Tables: All tables are to be labelled sequentially. Tables are to be placed in the centre of the page, at the top or bottom, whichever is closest to the text that refers to it (try and keep the figure near the text and on the same page). Leave a one line space and then add the table title. Table titles are to be placed at the bottom of the table, centered and labeled. After the table title, leave a one line space before continuing with the text for the next paragraph. Referencing – The Harvard referencing system is to be used. Footnotes should not be used.
